I love teaching! I have been teaching now for over forty years.God has blessed me with the gift to teach Reading and l am using that gift now as a First Grade teacher. I was born on the beautiful island of Jamaica where I earned a Bachelor of Arts with honors from the University of the West Indies (U.W.I.),and a Diploma in Theology from Caribbean Christ for the Nations.
I have always believed in bringing out the best in all my students with God's help.As a result, I try to instill in them the all powerful words from Philippians 4:13
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Ever since I can remember I have had a love for working with children. I have been teaching for a total of 15 years. This will be going on my second year working at West Oak Christian Academy. I have a master’s degree in elementary education. I love to create an atmosphere in my classroom that is loving and inspiring. I love to teach my students how important it is just to try their best everyday and let God do the rest. My favorite teaching quote,” Shoot for the moon! Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars!
My name is Alexandria Lee, this is my first-year teaching 2nd grade at West Oaks Academy. I am honored to be part of the West Oaks Schools Community. I earned my bachelor's degree at Southeastern University. I am very passionate to help students to reach and discover their full potential. My goal is to create a safe space for my students to learn and to motivate them to become life-long learners.
Teaching has been my passion since the age of 5. I can remember lining my stuff animals up and pretending they were my students. My passion for teaching is as strong today as it was back then. This is my first-year teaching at West Oaks Academy, but I have been educating students for the past 10 years. My experience ranges in many educational capacities. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary studies from the University of Central Florida. I pride myself on fostering the best learning experience to my students. I encourage my students to show up every day ready to learn and engage. I don’t allow students to be complacent with average scores. I challenge them to try a little harder because I know what each student is capable of. Teaching goes beyond the classroom. Teaching is being a mom sometimes; a sister and most importantly a friend. I create a learning environment that allows me to operate in any capacity the students require. I leave you with my favorite teaching quote by B.F Skinner” Education is what survives when what has been learned has been forgotten”.
Vonda White is originally from Orlando, Florida, where she began her teaching career over 15 years ago, presently entering her fifth year at West Oaks Academy. Vonda graduated from Florida Memorial University earning her Bachelor’s of Arts Degree. As a child growing up in a family of educators, Vonda realized at a young age teaching was her passion. Vonda believes that becoming an educator opens the opportunity to impart life lessons that students will never forget, allowing you to be in a position to influence their decisions, behaviors, strengths, weaknesses and imaginations. Teaching to Vonda is one of the most direct ways to make an impact and invaluable contribution. She knows that she is taking part in shaping the next generation. Through her years of teaching, she had the potential to interact with students at all stages of development and from all walks of life. Vonda believe each student have their own learning style. Her goal is to continue fostering a safe and nurturing classroom environment where each student can have the opportunity to achieve success.
