I love teaching! I have been teaching now for over forty years.God has blessed me with the gift to teach Reading and l am using that gift now as a First Grade teacher. I was born on the beautiful island of Jamaica where I earned a Bachelor of Arts with honors from the University of the West Indies (U.W.I.),and a Diploma in Theology from Caribbean Christ for the Nations.
I have always believed in bringing out the best in all my students with God's help.As a result, I try to instill in them the all powerful words from Philippians 4:13
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Teaching has been my passion since the age of 5. I can remember lining my stuff animals up and pretending they were my students. My passion for teaching is as strong today as it was back then. This is my first-year teaching at West Oaks Academy, but I have been educating students for the past 10 years. My experience ranges in many educational capacities. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary studies from the University of Central Florida. I pride myself on fostering the best learning experience to my students. I encourage my students to show up every day ready to learn and engage. I don’t allow students to be complacent with average scores. I challenge them to try a little harder because I know what each student is capable of. Teaching goes beyond the classroom. Teaching is being a mom sometimes; a sister and most importantly a friend. I create a learning environment that allows me to operate in any capacity the students require. I leave you with my favorite teaching quote by B.F Skinner” Education is what survives when what has been learned has been forgotten”.
