Language Arts

Teaching is definitely my calling! I've been teaching for 15 years now and a graduate of Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English with 120 Hours TESOL Certificate. I have also handled different level of students from elementary to Adult learners and have been an ESL Teacher to foreign students like: Japanese, Koreans, Thai, Taiwanese, Spanish, Chinese, Brazilian etc. Moreover, I feel that my greatest strengths are my ability to understand and meet the needs of individual students. Having a clear understanding of the importance of confidentiality and being able to provide a stimulating, caring and consistent environment for my students. I’m also a new teacher here at WestOaks Academy and currently teaching 6th to 8th grade Language Arts and Career Exploration. 


Diane Gillion

Social Studies

I have been teaching  for 12 Years. A 1993 graduate of Florida Memorial University in Miami FL with a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration. Born and raised in Florida. Currently teaching 7th and 8th grade History.  I am proud to be part of this most challenging and rewarding profession. 

Gillion philosophy is to teach from the heart while allowing students to discover their own abilities to be a scholar and positive leader in our school community.

Harold Lilly

6 - 8 Science

Born and Raised in NYC. A 2004 graduate of Clark Atlanta University with a degree in  Educational Studies- Child Development. I have been teaching for over 10 years. Communication, passion, drive, authenticity, community-building, and reflection all are hallmarks that makes me an educational leader in helping chance and affect the lives of students. I’m a member of the West Oaks Academy basketball coaching staff and also a two time SIAA state Champion. 


Kerry Wilson

6 - 8 Math

Mr. Kerry Wilson holds a Bachelors Degree in Education. He has been contributing to the academic development of students for the past thirty years. Being a recent addition to the West Oaks Academy Family, he considers himself blessed to be afforded the opportunity to serve the middle school department in the capacity of Mathematics and Bible teacher.

Mr. Wilson believes that discipline is the most effective tool in allowing one to uncover their God given greatness. Have a passion for what we do, practice patience and always show respect. He is a devoted Christian and family man.
